About Beacon
Beacon is a free, public-good crisis navigation tool. When someone faces a sudden catastrophic situation — the loss of a spouse, a disabling injury, housing instability, medical debt, dependent children and no income — the resources to help them almost always exist. The coordination gap between knowing that and knowing what to do next is where people fall through. Beacon closes that gap.
Beacon is not a chatbot and not a search engine. It is the person who already knows the system, sitting next to you at the kitchen table at midnight, telling you exactly who to call, in what order, what to say, and what to do next.
Beacon is free to use, stores no personal information, and is supported entirely by voluntary donations. It covers all 50 US states and draws on federal program information, state agency resources, and the 211 National Directory.

Support Beacon
Beacon is free for everyone, always. Running it costs real money — API fees, hosting, and the ongoing work of keeping program information current. If Beacon helped you or someone you know, a small donation keeps it available for the next person who needs it at 2am.
